The 3 Types of Information Your New Hires Need

A new hire needs to learn so many different aspects of the business that covering them all can feel impossible. Onboarding managers can get organized by dividing what the person needs to learn into three categories: technical learning is the company’s products, customers, technologies, and systems; cultural learning includes attitudes, behavioral norms, and values; and political learning is how decisions are made, who has the power to make them, and whose support the new hire will need. Help the new employee pick all of this up by connecting them to the right people. For each category of information, think about who has the relevant expertise (and communication skills) to explain the essentials. The head of product, for example, can probably talk at length about customers and systems, a senior leader might be willing to lay out how big-picture decisions are made, and a longtime trusted employee could be a good reference about important cultural norms. Make these introductions for the new hire early on, so they can start getting up to speed as soon as possible.

Help Your Team Embrace Change

Companies are constantly changing. And whether the changes are big or small, leaders need to inspire their employees to embrace what’s new. Here are some ways to do that:

• Talk about how people feel. Change stirs up lots of emotions (fear, frustration, and anxiety, to name a few). Hold regular meetings for people to express what they’re worried about, and encourage them to be honest.
• Tell stories. Stories can be powerful examples of how people overcame challenges. Think about the challenges your employees are facing, and share stories that relate to them.
• Ask “What if?” questions. “What if we built our workflows from scratch — what would they look like?” “What if we were all freelancers — how would we solve problems differently?” Use change as a catalyst to rethink the ways things are done.
• Treat mistakes as learning opportunities. Everyone messes up, so encourage people to talk about how their mistakes have helped them grow. Build a culture that rewards employees for taking smart risks.

How Your Organization Can Support Nursing Employees

Nursing parents have particular needs, and it’s important that your company does what it can to meet them. After all, supporting new parents is good for retention and the firm’s reputation — and, in some cases, there can be legal consequences for companies that don’t. But doing what’s required by law isn’t enough. If you’re in a senior position, here are some ways your organization can help nursing employees:

• Provide accommodations for pumping. These can include adequate break time; a clean, private room with a table, a chair, and electrical outlets; and a refrigerator or cooler for storing milk.
• Don’t reduce pay for breaks. Your state or country may not require paid pumping breaks, but not paying them creates a disparity among employees and may force lower-paid workers to stop pumping.
• Raise awareness. Send the message that you and other leaders support nursing employees. Offering to sponsor a peer support program, for example, can build a positive environment and help parents connect with each other.

And remember, if you aren’t sure what nursing employees need, ask.

When Talking to Customers, Be Confident and Show Your Expertise

Everyone wants their customers to be happy. And that requires using the right words, especially since more and more customer interactions take place through writing (email, live chat, even Twitter). Start the conversation by establishing a personal rapport. Show the customer that you’re listening to their problem or complaint, and then shift to a take-charge attitude, using confident, assertive language. Research shows that customer satisfaction is higher when you avoid deferential words (“afraid,” “mistake”) and use dominant language instead (“must,” “confirm,” “action”). In addition, customers will see you as more helpful if you use specific words. For example, a clothing retailer should talk about the “white turtleneck” rather than the “shirt,” and the “high-top sneakers” rather than the “shoes.” And don’t be afraid to explicitly endorse a product to the customer (“I suggest this comforter” or “I recommend this album”); doing so implicitly, by sharing your personal preference (“I like this comforter” or “I love this album”), can be less effective. An explicit endorsement signals both confidence and expertise.

Nuevo Plazo Administrativo para subir la información contable y tributaria relacionada con El Dictamen Fiscal 2018 07/05/2019

El Ministerio de Hacienda a través de la Dirección General de Impuestos Internos, informa a los Contribuyentes y Contadores, que a efectos de que los Contadores que tienen la obligación de cargar la información financiera y tributaria del Dictamen e Informe Fiscal del ejercicio 2018, actualicen su información en la base de Contadores y así puedan interactuar en el Sistema del Dictamen Fiscal electrónico, se amplía hasta el día 14 de mayo del corriente año, el plazo administrativo para cargar o subir en dicho Sistema, los estados financieros, notas financieras y anexos tributarios que corresponden, y que deben adjuntarse al referido Dictamen e Informe Fiscal.

Se exhorta a los Contribuyentes y Contadores que aún no han subido o cargado la información mencionada en el Sistema del Dictamen Fiscal, a revisar los manuales e instrucciones del sistema y formatos proporcionados por la Dirección, para evitar errores en el proceso e inconvenientes por incumplimientos del plazo.

En caso se le presentara inconvenientes en el proceso de carga de la información en el referido Sistema, puede avocarse a nuestras Oficinas a fin de brindarle orientación, en 49 Av. Sur, al sur poniente del Estadio Mágico González, entre 49 y 51 Av. Sur, Col. El Rosal, Edif. PROMERCAN, San Salvador, de lunes a viernes, en horario de 7:30 a 15:30 hrs.

con una Maestría en Tecnología Educativa del ITESM.
Me dedico a la Docencia en la Universidad de El Salvador en el área contable financiera de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas.
Actualmente colaboró en la Carrera de Mercadeo Internacional en Línea.

Motivación:
Me llamo la atención la temática del curso, ya que en los últimos meses he estado investigando
sobre Data Analytics.  Fundamentalmente guardo una data de actividades y resultados de los cursos que se imparten, por cuál me pareció de suma importancia  el que el curso se relacione con los usos de datos en la educación.

Aprendizaje
Espero conocer los aspectos fundamentales y una metodología sobre EduAnalytics que me permita obtener la mejor utilidad del manejo de los datos en Educación.
